A project dedicated to fifty years of Andrea Roggi’s artistic research, from his early works to the most recent developments of his practice.
First presented in Paris and later developed on the Island of Elba, the project traces Andrea Roggi’s artistic path through works and materials produced across different periods of his career.
Preparation / 01
Preparing a retrospective account
Giacomo Roggi’s site visit begins the preparation for a project spanning fifty years of Andrea Roggi’s artistic research. The studio briefing considers how to approach a body of work that includes sculpture, painting, drawing and study materials.
We define the creative direction and prepare the equipment for photography, film and social coverage. The exhibition’s development from Paris to the Island of Elba gives the documentation its wider context.
On location / 02
Reading the exhibition setting
The service begins with images of the location and the life around it. These establish the setting before attention moves to the works and materials that trace different stages of Roggi’s career.
Installation / 03
An exhibition taking shape
During installation, we document the work involved in preparing the presentation. Francesco Adreani films the process, Giulia Bidi records vertical footage, and Giacomo Roggi follows the photographic coverage and creative direction.
The backstage material adds another layer to the retrospective: alongside the history represented by the works, it records the present-day work of bringing the exhibition together.
Photography / 04
From individual works to a body of research
After installation, Giacomo Roggi produces the formal photographs for institutional use and press publication. The finished presentation provides the setting for documenting works and study materials from different periods.
Francesco Adreani films the exhibition without the movement of the installation crew, while continuing to record the backstage of the photographic service.
Social / 05
Sharing fifty years of creation
Giulia Bidi creates social content that introduces the retrospective and its different forms of artistic work. Vertical footage becomes reels and promotional formats, with interviews included where appropriate to the communication of the project.
