HUMANITAS

Behind the project.

Journal / Making of

The exhibition in Florence.

A photographic project documenting Andrea Roggi’s exhibition Humanitas | The Force of Love at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence.
Presented in the spring of 2025, Humanitas | The Force of Love brought Andrea Roggi’s sculptures into the spaces of the Basilica of San Lorenzo, one of Florence’s historic Renaissance landmarks.
Preparation / 01

Preparing at San Lorenzo

The site visit by Giacomo Roggi establishes the starting point for the service at the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence. Back in the studio, the briefing sets the creative direction for documenting Humanitas | The Force of Love within this architectural setting.
We evaluate and prepare the equipment needed for photographs, film and social coverage, with the churchyard and cloisters forming the context for the work.

Florence around the exhibition

Before documenting the installation, we begin with photographs and footage of the place and everyday life around it. These images introduce the Florentine setting of the exhibition presented in spring 2025.
Installation / 03

Installing the works at San Lorenzo

As installation begins, the team follows the work within the spaces of the basilica. Francesco Adreani films the operations, Giulia Bidi captures vertical footage for social media, and Giacomo Roggi directs the coverage while taking photographs.
This part of the service records the process behind the sculptures’ finished presence in the churchyard and cloisters.

Sculpture and architecture

After installation, Giacomo Roggi concentrates on formal photographs of the works in the architectural setting of San Lorenzo. The selection is intended for institutional communication and editorial publication.
Francesco Adreani films the completed installation and continues to document the photographic backstage, with the works now visible without the activity of the installers.
Social / 05

Communicating Humanitas

Giulia Bidi develops reels and other social formats around the exhibition in Florence, with interviews where appropriate. The vertical coverage complements the formal photographs, giving space to the work that accompanied the finished presentation.
